Statement Of Faith
Beliefs
The Bible - We believe that the Bible is God’s perfect guidebook for life. The Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (John 17:17, Romans 15:4, II Timothy 3:16-17, II Peter 1:19-21)
The Trinity - We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit; that these three are all equally and fully God in substance, and carry out distinct but harmonious functions in the work of creation, providence and salvation. (Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 28:19, John 1:1-4, Deuteronomy 6:4, II Corinthians 13:14) God the Father - We believe in God, the Father, an infinite personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of each person, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. (Exodus 3:14, John 3:16-17, John 4:24, James 1:17) God the Son - We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son. We believe that He is fully God and fully man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. We believe in His sinless life, His substitutionary atonement, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension into Heaven, His high priestly intercession on behalf of His people, and His personal, visible return to earth. (Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 9:6, John 1:14, John 8:58, John 10:30, Acts 1:10-11, Philippians 2:5-11, Colossians 1:15, Hebrews 4:14-16)
The Church- We believe in one, holy, universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We are not affiliated with any specific denomination, but believe in the local church, consisting of groups of believers in Jesus Christ, who are associated for worship, learning, connecting, serving and going into the world with the good news of Jesus Christ. As these purposes are fulfilled, we believe that the local church brings the hope of Christ to the world. (Acts 2:42, I Corinthians 12:13, Colossians 1:18, Ephesians 2:10, Mark 12:30, Romans 12:5, Philippians 2:5, 1 Peter 4:10, Colossians 4:5, Matthew 22:38 – 40, Matthew 28:20)
